I got dropped before Pref by a house that is considered bottom here. I would have likely chosen them first if I'd preffed them because I really enjoyed my time there, and loved the girls I got to know. I wasn't a legacy to any house on campus, so I know I wasn't dropped for that. My grades were excellent, my activities were good, etc. Instead, I ended up with two houses that people here rank middle/upper depending on the list. I think I'm a great fit for the house I'm in, but I still think I'd be just as happy in the other house, and I'm even still good friends with a couple of the girls that I got to know in that house during Rush. No, I've never asked them why I got dropped, and never will.
