I definitely agree with you, it's ridiculous that anyone would consider basic things like not being able to wear the crest before initiation, having to attend new member education meetings, and going out with actives to be hazing. It devalues what a big deal real hazing actually is, like the situation at Penn State. That being said, some groups and even some universities do consider putting certain restrictions on new members to be hazing, so I do think it's a valid comment to make, even if we all know it's crazy.
