Just my own opinion, everyone is different, but I think having houses early in the day is way better. Your mouth is less dry, your throat is less sore, you're less physically exhausted, you're more mentally present, and your hair/outfit/face looks the closest to what you wanted it to look like originally. Having a solid break before you visit a house can help with all of that later in the day, but it will still be harder for you to tell everyone apart after a while.
