@Pak's I disagree with you. Being in-state, even if your 'connections' are simply going to the same high school as a few actives, counts for something. It puts you on the radar immediately and it makes it much easier for actives to find out more about you. Those weak connections can add to a house's perception of you and put you on the map. If you are OOS without connections then it is much harder to get on the map. Not to mention that MOST PNMs, including out of state PNMs, are not "outstanding". Old row will take the solid in-state girl they know over the better OOS girl they don't almost every time.
