I'm in a new row house and trust me we're not trying to "push an agenda." By telling the far OOS girls it will be hard for them to go old row makes yall seem more exclusive so I really don't see it as a bad thing. They'll probably want you more. THIS IS WHY WE REALLY SAY IT It is hard for far Oos girls to go old row. I am cute enough, had great grades, solid recs, good resume and you know what? I got cut by every OR house first round. Yes I know lots of far oos girls go old row but way more don't. I was crushed getting my philanthropy card back. I love my house but it really hurt having that heavy of cuts at the time. So quit building false hope in these girls. Yes they COULD be the ones that go OR from far away but odds are they won't be. There's way mire southern girls in those houses and we both know it. PNMs fron far OOS!! Old row and new row are great. I have no doubt that I would have had no problem fitting in old row with all southern girls and I'm sure yall would too. Most of my friends are southern in my NR house. But just don't think you'll walk right into those houses, bc you will end up having your heart broken if u have that mentality.
