Stop thinking that you can judge someone's personality, wealth, worth, intelligence, or sociability based on their letters. Girls who obsess over rush may have gotten 35 recs, know 50 actives, and made 4 house visits during the school year. They may end up in a "top" house. A very similar girl academiclly, socially, and physically may go to a "bottom" house because she is from far OOS, is the first person from her town to ever go to bama (which is happening more often with bamas push for OOS students), signed up for rush after the communication deadline and therefore no one followed her or knew who she was, and only was able to get 10 LOR in the time she had to prepare. One girl is no better or worse in quality than the other. Use your house to improve yourself socially, academically, personally, and in your future career paths, but your letters are not a reflection of your quality. "Bottom" houses aren't full of bottom girls. Top houses aren't full of "top" girls. Sometimes its all about who was able to get their face in their first and shmooze enough actives. Sometimes it's about being a filler girl. Go where you feel the most welcomed-- whether thats top, middle, bottom, off campus, wherever. Your letters aren't who you are, but use your organization to create or improve yourself. end rant
