You need to have a serious talk with your mom RIGHT NOW about recruitment and both of your expectations. Sooner rather than later. Tell her exactly what you've told us and ask her to give you the space to make your own decision. It's your lifetime membership, not hers, and what you do with her life might be for her to advise on but it is not hers to choose. Be honest with her. It really is the best policy.
