You just really need to prepare yourself. If you're going really far from home, it's going to be an adjustment. The weather, the culture, your family and friends not being down the street, starting college...you'll be moving into a tiny dorm room that will probably make you sick the whole year. Rush is so fun but physically and emotionally exhausting. Then you're thrown into hard classes along with sorority events and trying to get involved in other things and still have a social life. Starting college is hard but it's SO worth it. Give your sorority a chance even if it's not the one you wanted. There are amazing girls like you in every single house. If you don't find your best friends on bid day, give it time. It sometimes even takes till sophomore year to find your true friend group. Have a healthy balance - work hard in classes and study, but still making time for a social life. But don't neglect your studies to party. Chances are you'll be overwhelmed with all the changes and all the responsibilities when you start college, but if you give it time and really try in school and get involved in your sorority and make an effort to form friendships, then you should get the most out of your college years. This is the truth for every college. Even if you transfer, this would be the same way at your new school. Just work hard and enjoy every moment!! It's so much fun and the hard times are worth it
