Maybe this is a good argument for going to Spring Rush instead of Fall. (Yes, I know. Don't kill me. It's just a thought.) 1. People, regardless of OOS or In State, who just came to Bama to party, and aren't also focused on grades, will be thinning out by then or their grades won't be good enough to Rush. They are gonna party whether they are in a sorority or not that first semester. 2. The houses will have a better idea of who people are, and can be more selective of their sisters. 3. Some people who think you HAVE to be Greek to have any kind of social life might find a non-Greek niche and decide it's not for them, after seeing Greeks around campus for the semester. That would probably be balanced by the people who might not have planned to go Greek, but decide to, though. 4. It might cut down on the sheer numbers that go through Recruitment. Especially if it's attached to a minimum GPA. This will stop the massive pledge classes.
