The conversation did digress. I think the girls that were defending kappa were directing their comments to @um because s/he said incorrect information that made kappa look bad without any evidence. As for taking girls below the 3.3 mark - looking at the new member gpa for fall 2016 (3.53) I'd say that kappa is doing a lot better about being selective about grades (as of this year anyway). As for grade exceptions - kappa (and every other sorority) will never stop taking grade risks into their house if the pnm knows 10+ actives and will probably thrive in the house. But by making the recommended gpa at 3.3 they can make bigger GPA cuts early especially given that they are a well desired house during rush.
