I honestly think a GPA cutoff is the way to go because it solves two problems in one: high pledge class sizes and low retention rate. If your GPA is below a 3.0 then use freshman year to prove you can actually handle the rigor of college and rush as a sophomore. Personally I hate the idea of girls with 2.7s getting into houses on "connections" only to drop out after they get back their grades for first semester while far OOS girls with solid GPAs who love the idea of being in Greek life get cut because they're socially awkward and we have a PC size cap.
