A lot of houses DO NOT require recs for them to extend a bid to you. However, recs are seriously suggested because they show you're serious about Greek life and they show you're at least somewhat knowledgable about the process. I strongly suggest looking really hard for recs for all houses... At least one per house, but two per house would be ideal. Most sororities at Bama have huge nationals, a quick google search for local alum chapters isn't too hard.
