Unlike the people above, I didn't get a scholarship from UA, my GPA and SAT scores were just under the requirement. However, I'm blessed that my parents can afford OOS tuition for me and when I was looking at schools, I kind of fell in love with Bama. I really wanted to go down South for college and I also wanted a school that was big in sports. And I always knew I wanted to go Greek so whatever school I ended up at needed to have at least some Greek life, but part of my truly did like Bama that much more because of the massive Greek life here. But to answer the OP, I didn't choose Bama specifically just for the Greek life... As other people said, it's a major plus, but there were definitely more important aspects I was looking for in a college other than that.
