Not 100% disagreeing with you but I think part of why they have a reputation for having "total package" girls is that they are among the most selective houses on campus and probably make the most cuts because their metaphorical yield rate is so high. PNMs just really WANT to be in AXO for one reason or another, especially during rush, so they don't have to fight with as many other houses over prized PNMs. They just land them. A lot of it is talk, yes - they ride on their reputation like any OR house does - but that talk contributes to them getting smart, attractive PCs that are willing to continue the pattern. So I get what you're saying but I also wouldn't say AXO is less selective just because some of their girls have bland personalities. That's just been my observation.
