additionally, once a chapter has a charter, it's no longer a colony, so none of the three mentioned above are "failed colonies". There was a serious decline in greek life involvement a few decades ago that caused tons of chapters to close. that sucks, but it doesn't mean this colony will fail. To invest the time, money, and energy in colonizing at a school like Alabama is a gamble no sorority will take lightly. And finally, I think we all know the reason SDT will not be considered to participate in formal recruitment in the foreseeable future. it's unfortunate, but too many PNMs will prejudge them instead of giving them a chance, and they seem to have found their niche. Let's instead focus on the wonderful chapters we have (and will soon have) who can all help carry the burden of so many PNMs. A strong panhellenic community is the best for all of us.
