You can't say that SDT has weak nationals and then say SK doesn't. The truth of the matter is that any new sorority introduced to Alabama will have weak nationals because we already have all the houses with strong national networks (AXO, KAT, KKG, XO, etc) and we already have a few houses that are only strong in certain regions (PM, AGD, etc). SDT and SK have a few decent chapters here and there but neither have top chapters at any school comparable to Alabama. Also you can't compare a small Northeastern school to Alabama. It's so much easier to colonize sororities at small schools where Greek life isn't a major aspect because there isn't going to be a pushback from people in the Greek community. Also Greek life isn't embedded in the history of a lot of Northeastern schools and when PNMs rush they don't care about establishment and the history of a house. But at Alabama it's a completely different story. Also, I think another thing that may scare PNMs away from pledging a newly colonized sorority is that there's no safety in doing so. A newly colonized house may flourish the first few years but it may dramatically dip the following years. And if a house isn't successful enough within a certain time frame then their charter gets pulled.
