I am super happy to see SK back on our campus and I think they are a step in the right direction, however, they still aren't going to magically solve our size issues. Take the number of girls who got bids last year and divide it by 17 - you still have 146. It's not as big a difference as we need, tbh. However, I hope that SK can successfully colonize and show other Panhellenic sororities that it is possible to do at Alabama. I mean, my best friend from home goes to a small school in the northeast that had 2 sororities successfully colonize within a 3-year period and another scheduled for next year. If SK can do well then we can hopefully continue to increase the number of chapters on our campus and get chapter sizes to a healthy - but not overwhelming - level. I do not think SDT can be successful as a traditional sorority at Alabama. Their nationals is SUPER weak and I do not think they have a SINGLE chapter in the south that isn't woefully struggling, which doesn't bode well for their alumnae support now (and down the line.) Truth be told I think SK is in fact more "fully capable" of being competitive here than SDT ever will.
