I don't think that @True was judging individual people on their grades, involvement, "church attendance," etc. I think she was just asking that if it's true that some house tend to overlook said areas in replace of a pretty face... And it's true. Simple as that. Just like that there are some houses here that will pledge you if you have a 4.0 and a not so pretty face. The point is, sororities shouldn't be so "shallow." I don't mean that to be rude or hateful, I just can't find a better word. Sororities should pledge girls of substance who can provide more than just cute instas... Lots of houses here pledge girls solely based on merit. So, if you're looking for girls who are serious about their academics then that's great and you can definitely find your fit... Same with girls who are looking for others who are more focused on the social aspect.
