I'm not an AOPi but i don't get what the big deal is. They all still tell me they're in "AOPi" when I meet one. I think the alpha o thing is cute, its fun to mix it up. I've seen kappas with just "kappa gam" in their bio and dz's with "delta z" or tridelts with "trideezy" they're just silly little fun nick names in addition to their main ons. Let them live.
