Generally speaking a colonizing sorority forms some kind of exploration committee in the spring semester prior to their actual colonization and hold info sessions for current students that are interested in pursuing it (ie current sophomores/juniors looking to make their mark on something historic, current freshmen that don't feel like doing formal recruitment again, etc.) SK will most likely not do formal recruitment in the fall although SOMETIMES colonizing chapters do the first round of recruitment so girls can get to know them, and then they drop out of the process. A few weeks after formal recruitment is over they will have another info session/open house for freshmen that didn't receive/accept bids or freshmen that didn't want to bother with the fuss of formal recruitment. Eventually women from (ideally) all class years will be given bids and the chapter will be installed. Colonizing at Bama is difficult but not impossible and I think SK is prepared for the challenge. I think they could give some of the lower houses a run for their money if they work the right angle PR-wise. They need to get smart, attractive, involved girls that are intimidated by ~the largest recruitment in the country~ or really like the idea of having a say in how their sorority is run.
