Old Row was established long before Budweiser sponsored it. The big annual party used to be called the Old Row Lake Party and it was held at Lake Tuscaloosa. When I was there in the late 90s, the party had gotten so big they could no longer do it at the lake, so moved it to the Varsity/Jupiter (not sure what it's called now) on the Strip. So back when it was a huge lake party, Bud started sponsoring it. All the nonesense about new Row sororities having to turn down an invitation to Old Row because of Budweiser on the shirts is completely made up - they were never asked to join. It was the 6 Old Row (University Blvd) frats that picked six sororities to join them and that is how Okd Row came to be.
