This is a good thread. Think about it. In-state girls that join a sorority at Alabama already know tons of people. They don't need the sorority to meet people. So they don't engage in sorority life with a goal to meet new people. The sorority is an affirmation of their "status" and it creates social outlets. The houses don't much care if a girl was a "mean girl" in high school, so long as they have the looks and connections. Makes for bad in-house chemistry and cliques. Nothing but truth. There are exceptions. Many in-state girls are awesome and want to blend in and make tons of new friends. The in-state "popular" crowd, though, is not much on that front.
