Agree re: the grades thing. I had a 3.2 at my school far OOS before transferring to a high school in Alabama and getting a 4.0 even though my courseload was higher and I was more involved... It's such a tricky situation because you never know which girls worked super hard for that 3.0 (and thus will continue to work hard in college) and which girls didn't work at all but still got good grades (and thus will show up at college with no idea how to study for things and fail.) At the end of the day chapters have to draw arbitrary lines in an attempt to narrow down the pool of PNMs. Recruitment isn't fair and some people definitely get unlucky but I think generally chapters do what works best the majority of the time.
