GPA is an easy thing to cut for. Thats why it is important. Theres thousands of PNMs. And hundreds of them are girls from in state, who are legacies, who were the captain of their sports team, are double majoring in marketing and accounting, volunteer at the homeless shelter on the weekends, and were the class secretary. How can we easily get down from thousands to hundreds of girls from round one or two to the next? GPA! If I go ahead and say we are not taking anyone below a 3.5, I still have 100s of awesome girls to choose from for my chapter. Seriously, you all are stellar and sweet, but we HAVE to cut each round. And those cuts have to start somewhere. So we start with the easiest, most concrete things to cut on. No recs and GPA.
