It's sad that certain sororities here put such an emphasis on appearance. I completely agree that your outward appearance is the first thing people notice and it is important to look and act your best. However, if looking and feeling your best means that you wear simple clothing and wear little makeup, then a sorority shouldn't be forcing you to do otherwise... Which is why it's so important for you PNMs to pledge a house you feel comfortable and happy in. Don't pledge a house that makes you feel inadequate or that makes you feel like you need to have sun kissed skin/a caked face/the trendiest clothes/the skinniest body all the time just because they hold a certain status on campus. Pledge a house for the sisterhood. The friendships you make will last a lifetime, but the status is only for four years.
