so my mom went to UA and was in an old row sorority that is considered top tier, and I cut them after second round and ended up pledging a different old row house. as much as it annoyed my mom, I knew I would not fit in to her house AT ALL. I know that I was lucky to have known so much about all of the houses ahead of time and I understand that most PNMs don't have this luxury. my advice to yall now would be to trust your gut and the vibes that you get from the houses. my sorority wasn't on my radar at all - I had no connections and I didn't know anything about them - but I trusted my intuition and now I literally couldn't imagine myself anywhere else. moral of the story: if you love your legacy house and you feel completely at home and have no reservations, go for it. but if you're maybe not sure and you think you click with another house more, definitely DO NOT GO THAT HOUSE JUST FOR YOUR LEGACY STATUS. I know u think sharing that with your mom will enrich your experience but I promise if you it doesn't. obviously houses change a lot between generations so you cant expect to love the house just like your mom did. Vibes are real y'all.
