i was OOS with a great/high GPA, went to a boarding school, and had lots of involvement that lasted throughout high school (meaning i was committed to things throughout 4 years rather than jumping around w/ involvement). i was a legacy at two houses (one mom, one maternal aunt), and had a rec from the former international president at another house, and got called back to four houses the second round. i still don't have a clue as to why i was cut from so many so quickly, because i was dressed well and have been told multiple times how put together i am in appearance and in conversation. i was a perfect recruit on paper, but obviously not in person. tl;dr you never know what's going to happen during recruitment.
