It is a fact that in an attempt to raise the academic profile of Bama that the University throws a ton of $$ at even moderately intelligent out of state students -- because even a modest 28 on the ACT gets a big ole scholarship for out of staters. Do you hicks actually believe that a 3.5 in an Alabama high school is the same as one in a NY, MA, NJ or CT high school where the state education standards are much higher to begin with ? What's the admission criteria for Alabama in-state students, a pulse? So stop acting like "grades" at Bama are the same as up North or at Vandy, or Duke. You maw maws hate the pretty Alpha Phi's and the grades talk is just a distraction.
