From out of state and knew I wanted to rush. I did get rec-letters from family friends and relatives as well as a few teachers. None knew anything about the chapters at Bama. I didn't really read up much either. Here is what I can say from my experience. I did have a great rush and got a house I really liked all along. My opinion would change at different rounds - they are quick visits, and it depends on who you talk to. I did have a full card at every round, but from other pnms it seemed this isn't typical. The rec letters definitely seemed to help, particularly at the better houses. I definitely did best at the top houses where I had recs. All my pref houses were ones were someone wrote a rec. By philanthropy cuts - at least for the better houses - were houses where I didn't have a Rec. It's confusing. The first two days I didn't really even know the Greek alphabet. Houses would run together and I would forget, and ask myself what one was the one where I talked to this Girl? That being said, it was easy to remember the favorites. There was one house I really liked, but at sisterhood one of the members "assigned" to me, I just couldn't relate to. I tried my best but just couldn't connect with her. I really liked the other girls in the earlier rounds and even other girls during sisterhood. But the one that spent the most time with me at sisterhood wasn't clicking - got dropped for pref. Its a bit random on that regard.
