While the responses above do hold some truth, y'all need to realize that there are some sororities here that do take finances into consideration, much more than just making sure you can "afford the dues." When you rush it's clear to see which houses are more vain while others are more sincere. For example, the girls that rushed this most recent fall got a tour of the Phi Mu house. I remember thinking it was a gorgeous house but the tour was so random and unnecessary that at a certain point you just realize that the girls were just showing off their glitzy house. Some can argue that the girls were just excited for the new opening of their house and just wanted everyone to see, but I mean let's be honest, it's really hard to maintain a conversation while you're hurrying all over a 40,000 sq ft house. Y'all know that Phi Mu, in particular, cares a lot about money and the kind of background you come from. Not trying to call them out or hate on them whatsoever, but y'all can't go through things like this and then say houses don't care about how much your daddy makes.
