Other people here have said that the three possible sororities that could come here don't want to. Between those three sororities there's little interest, financial opportunity, and potential advisors from them. The fact of the matter is that in upcoming years UA will need to introduce a new chapter on campus to help deal with the growing amount of interest in sorority life here. Either that or recruitment will become even more cut throat and the 96% match rate will steadily decline, and I know Panhellenic here really doesn't want to see that happen. At the end of the day I really think SDT should strongly consider participating in formal recruitment once again. They've been on campus for decades, they're known among current Greek members but not too well known, in terms of reputation, so it would be easy for them to rebuild a new name on campus, and as someone said before they have a lot of dedicated alum that want to see them succeed. I'm sure theres a way for SDT to participate in formal rush even with their low numbers, even if it means they wouldn't be able to speak one on one to the PNMs. If there's a will there's a way, especially here at Bama.
