Jen- you really shouldn't do whatever your friend is doing. Do what YOU want to do. If you have this attitude through rush, it's going to make it 10x harder honestly. If you end up in the same sorority for this reason, there is a big chance that you won't like it just because it won't be so much "you" as an individual. It's a lot of fun having friends in other houses anyway because you'll have different groups of friends so pledge what best suits you!
