I would say it depends on how well houses find girls that fit their current vibe. If a girl is dissatisfied with her sorority experience, she is going to leave or not participate to her full abilities. She might transfer schools because she was expecting her house to fill that family role. We pay a lot of money to enjoy our houses and activities. If a girl is unhappy, why would she want to keep paying? Look at the numbers and see who leaves, especially as sophomores and juniors. Recruitment is crucial to keeping the correct girls in the correct houses and sisterhood events, big or small, keep the girls connected. All the houses here are big, beautiful places full of great women. The only thing that matters is finding the right house for a girl to be her best self.
