If you're on the lower side of self esteem, it can be pretty rough. You'll constantly second-guess your answers and clothing choices and wonder which one of them was the reason you weren't picked. What I wish I'd known is that so much is decided before you walk in the door. Things like your gpa and zip code and high school activities/involvement. I didn't sleep the whole week. I'm sorry if this sounds brutal, but I think it's important to know what you're going to experience. Knowing what I know now, my best advice would be to not stress it and don't take it hard when you get dropped by a house. It isn't personal and you shouldn't feel like a reject or 'lesser' because of it.
