It honestly isn't all that bad; your experience is all how you make it out to be! I was nervous going in as a PNM but I am so glad I stuck it out and went through with the process. If you're on the fence, please give it a shot. You'll never know what you're missing out on if you don't at least try. There is a decent amount of stress because of how good the chapters are here at UA; because our greek life is so prominent, it's really the house choosing you and not the other way around (which it is at other schools). I know when I went through there were girls who were absolutely heartbroken because their favorite house dropped them; it hurts but you HAVE to trust the process. I got a bid from a house I wasn't super crazy about during rush, but now I absolutely love where I ended up. If you go into recruitment with an open mind, you won't be disappointed. You'll also make a ton of friends along the way even if you decide greek life isn't for you.
