Top is a measure of how many girls want the house during rush and as a result who gets to select "the best" girls as measured by some combination of the criteria you mention: grades, wealth, connections, good taste, attractiveness, friendliness, involvement, personality, and charm. After rush, the idea is that these houses (as a result of their members) also create a "wish I was there" feeling among some. Many will down vote this idea. But, 2500 girls vying for membership in 18 houses creates some form of "competition" - like it or not it's unavoidable. Many may detest the entire process, and they are entitled to that opinion. But there's no denying it is a selective process, with some houses having more girls wanting in than they can accommodate, and a criteria for inclusion ( and exclusion). AXO is a house that has a lot of interest at rush, particularly fo smart, involved, Alabama girls. And, as a result can be "selective". And, for those that think involved, smart, Alabama girls are where it is at, they are "top". However, there are plenty of great pnms who don't align with there selection criteria. And, they are go elsewhere, by mutual choice. And are in houses that are seen as "top" for other reasons. \n\n\n\n\n
