Whew that was a LONG time ago. 1950s, '60s? Early 1970s, they were on the east end of University. Seems like they moved to the west end at some point. They were pretty strong back then. There are a LOT of fraternities out there with no Alabama chapter. I would think the local DKEs would chose to affiliate with a fraternity with no current chapter, but it really depends on how their house ownership is structured and their legal obligations to DKE national. Follow the money, you know. Meanwhile, the NPC sororities - with their insistence on no hazing and no booze in the house - are stronger than ever. When will you foolish men ever learn?
