They are "in" with a relatively small insular band of similar old school Bama boys and themselves. No one else pays much attention to them and their DKE cohorts. Believe they are entirely content with being in the circle they are and have no interest in broader appeal. What has changed is the status of those outside their circle. Long ago, it may have been less desirable Alabaman's looking in with awe. Now it's a group of oos with at least equivalent social status, who are indifferent (and even negative) to the impression of their prestige.
