My house is the same way. We give out a few small academic scholarships each year ($1,000-2,500 range) but no break on dues or sorority expenses. I mean what I am about to say sincerely: if it is going to be a huge financial burden for you to join a sorority (and remember, dues are just the tip of the iceberg as far as house expenses), don't go through rush. You'll probably pledge and end up needing to drop because of finances and you will have taken another girl's spot.
