Dear freshman (the OP), Do us all a favor and drop right now. You're obviously one valuable gal, and the sororities were fighting over you. Seriously, DON'T wait until Christmas. You'll be initated by then and if you quit, you can't join any other NPC group anywhere, EVER. But DO give your group at least another 2 or 3 weeks. You can't pledge anywhere else for a year, so why not try it out a little while longer? I know of 6 last year who quit their new row group and went through this year. 1 pledged old row (she had several friends there from hometown), 1 pledged mid tier, 1 pledged low tier, and 2 got nothing. So sure, you MIGHT get a "better" house...or you might get nothing.
