There is various levels of probation and depends on the infraction. You can be put on probation which you are warned one more infraction will cost you. You can get on probation where you may not have any social events. The biggest reason a chapter is placed on probation is they violated risk management rules. Hazing is a whole different area because criminal statutes are in play, which usually results in charter suspension or being revoked.
