For the lurking moms on this site: If you are not from the the deep south, welcome! However, here are some things to know about UA. The south in general is conservative, which I'm sure you knew when you sent your daughter down here. That means that a generally accepted look is more conservative than what your community may do. This is OK! We don't want to change your girls. What it will mean, however, is a little bit of a raised eyebrow, and if that matters to you, it's because we tend to show less skin, tan less, etc... Women from the deep south that dress like that are considered more loose, so that is the impression it gives moms, daughters, and the hormone raged boys on campus. Again, it is OK, and it isn't judging you as much as it is a regional upbringing. If we sent our daughters to the east coast (New Jersey, for example) I'm SURE you all would think our girls were plain and needed some flair. Our girls might get dropped by your traditional top houses for it. What I'm trying to say is that maybe instead of fighting over who is "top" and who is not, we set a new standard. Maybe Alpha Phi and Zeta are top for Jersey girls. Maybe Kappa and Phi Mu are top for Texas girls. Maybe Chi O and Alpha Chi are top for Alabama. Why don't we start classifying the houses as they fit their groups? With this many women, one size can no longer fit all. Agree?
