there's no way to know for sure why some house cut you. however, if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't have told any other houses that I was a legacy somewhere else, because of the way legacy rules are (having to put a legacy on your first bid list if they're invited to pref, etc). But there's no way to go back and change the past, especially since you already fell in love with your legacy house! there's no sense in dwelling on that which you cannot change. To all future PNMs: I wouldn't recommend explicitly stating what house your mother/sister/whomever was in, and would say to phrase it "I wanted to go through recruitment because some of my family members have been Greek, and I always admired the values and close friendships that resulted from their membership, but my mom/sister/aunt/whatever knows I'm keeping an open mind!" and don't mention what house!
