If you look at the numbers for 2021, Cornell's acceptance rate is a little under half that of UVA, not a third. UVA is legally obligated to ensure 2/3 of its students come from Virginia, which skews the acceptance rate. OOS UVA acceptance rate is 17%. Meanwhile Cornell's 2021 acceptance rate is twice that of Northwestern. Does that mean that Northwestern is without dispute a better school than Cornell? Of course not - there are many factors to consider beyond acceptance rate.
