given you already made your decision to switch to UVA, no point in hashing this over. But I think based off your replies you are very much trying to rationalize the prestige factor. The fact that Cornell is Ivy League is not about the experience factor does not really make sense. Plenty of old ivy league prep at Cornell not to mention Cornell was founded to be a different kind of university by Ezra so it does not retain a lot of the preppiness that you would see at HYP. The ivy league is not just a name, it is basically a club where members relate to each other. Can't tell you how many times it has been an easy way for me to talk to alums of different ivies. It is a confederation that will unfortunately never die. As I said earlier, you very much seem gung ho on the vibes of UVA vs Cornell and throughout all your responses tried to rationalize your decision by talking about how UVA and Cornell were not that different in prestige. There is a difference between job placement and prestige. Lastly, you also brought up how you got into Cornell but not into UCLA and UVA by waitlist. That is not an uncommon experience lol. I got into Cornell, Vandy, Gtown etc. but not into my state schools, Northeastern, other typical safety schools. One of my best buddies is from Cal and got into Harvard and UCBerk but not into UCLA. This happens with college admissions all the time and is not indicative of the school itself. Regardless best of luck at UVA. You made the right decision if you wanted a school u fit at better, but a terrible decision if you thought UVA was more prestigious.
