Subject:
use of new social media platforms for advertisement

Poster Message:
let's say it were "uncool" to use platforms such as tiktok to advertise your fraternity/sorority to the student body by posting the fun times you have. The vast majority of incoming freshman and new students likely have a tiktok, so regardless of what you think is cool, the younger group of kids have a different perception. Posting on tiktok if done well can be an effective marketing strategy and indicates that you are ahead of the times. I'm not sure if you remember when people switched from MySpace to Facebook, but with this change it became apparent that MySpace became "uncool" and outdated, while the people on Facebook were seen as trendy and tech savvy by younger people. It is inevitable that new social media platforms will become popular among newer generations, so what is it with people ridiculing the use of tiktok? Sorry if this sounds like a shameless plug for tiktok, but are we going to deny how popular it is becoming? Stick with the times and profit from it.
