So I went through spring recruitment with this particular sorority (not saying which but may be obvious idk) let me point out I've NEVER been the type of person to throw out race or get offended about things to do with race but during the whole time I felt like every girl just looked over me and didn't care about what I had to say or care to even get to know me. I tried putting myself out there and talking to the girls but none of them seemed interested to get to know me. I got dropped from this sorority and one of my friends in the sorority says it may have been because I'm black (I'm not even full black) I just figured I didn't have a connection with any of the girls or something. I just found it weird how they took girls who have taken bids from other sororities and some girls that are seniors that are graduating this spring. I'm an outgoing person, born and raised in the south with a pretty strong southern accent and never had trouble making friends or anything I just wanted to get involved on campus. I still really want to join a sorority in the fall but I'm afraid I will get dropped just because I am black. Again, not saying this is the reason but I've heard a lot of rumors about people getting dropped due to the color of their skin. It kind of hurts my feelings knowing this could've been the reason that I wasn't able to join a sorority. What do yall think about it?
