Hi! I won't name what house I'm in, but speaking for my sorority I have seen a lot of change. Our executive office has been very reflective and is making lots of changes. For example, they were one of the first nationals to get rid of legacies because it inherently benefits white women whose parents had less barriers to higher education along with Greek life. We also had a presentation during recruitment training that was very thorough on diversity, equity, and inclusion. We talked about affinity bias, tokenism, microaggressions, our sorority's past mistakes, along with what it means to be a good ally. I can't speak to everywhere else, but I know there is at least one house on campus that is truly trying to change the culture within it. I really hope you've decided too go through recruitment but ultimately that you do what's best for you.
