Getting a COB is hard and waiting around to be contacted is not going to get you one. You really have to be in direct constant contact with members and show interest BUT they have to have openings. Try for a spring bid, work your contacts, be confident and interested. You can always rush again in the fall, girls do it every year and often do much better the second time around.
