I'm an "old." I check in here on occasion because i'm an advisor for an (according to most ranks) top or mid chapter here, so maybe that discredits my opinion but here we are. I was around when DG and KD were barely breaking in their houses and pnms didn't really care for them. Unlike KD, I never got any negative talk from DG about others and look at them now. Then GPhi showed up on the scene and started telling pnms they were "taking the adpi or dz house." I'm not saying that's why gphi didn't take off like DG, but I don't think it helped. Positivity matters. I hope AOPi keeps that in mind while they're starting out. I don't know how much to stress that EVERY chapter has their problems and that history and alumnae support matters more than you know. Our actives depend on them greatly for monetary and recruitment support, have gotten job offers due to connections, and enjoy having an extensive network for all kinds of fun and opportunities. Tradition and history matters in greek life. The deeper the alumnae network, the deeper the pockets. Ladies, things change. Never rest on your laurels or assume houses will always be a certain rank.
